944 Brake disc torque settings

Anyone know what torque I should be doing the bolts up to on the early 944 front discs?

Cheers
Paul

On the early front disc brakes, the disc is held to the hub by 5 bolts. Its these bolts.

The torque spec is dependent on the size and hardness of the bolt. For some reason metric bolts are quite low. I believe the Bently manual lists the max and min torques for each size bolt. My manual is out on loan so you might want to run a search on the internet. Make sure the threads are clean and for anything concerning the moving parts of the chassis I use blue locktite. You will never get it apart again if you use red locktite. Hope it helps.

Thanks for that - I was worried about not doing them tight enough, but I know what happens if you do them up to tight.

Its quite a strange design, as every other set of disc brakes I have worked on has had the wheel stud or wheel bolt also going through the disc.

The bolts in question are standard 8.8strength M8 bolts.
18lbft on each.
