i had an idea... (rear coilover conversion)

people dont seem to trust the uniball? setup to hold everything on at the spring plate end, because its a small joint and only one... whats stopping running a parallel bar setup from say the two rear bolt locations on the bar housing to two matching holes on the trailing arm / irs arm? this would make the load spread over 2 joints instead of one... i cant picture any issues with any alignment issues or anything hitting/binding provided its pushed out enough & the outer cover is solid i doubt it would ever break... id love to hear other peoples thoughts on this as my cars in peices, thought its an idea worth sharing with a more experienced audience. thanks everyone

Think about the linkage, it would try to twist the trailing arm and bind up..

You'd have to use 4 heims, 2 front and 2 at the axle.

i thought it would move similar to say a 4 link rear on your generic drag car, ahh yes i guess because its two pivot points it wouldnt move in the up down arc unless the lenghts of the connecting rod varied as it went, ah well, at least i got the thought out, thanks for the input and making me realise what i missed :tu:
