porsche fan - removing alternator from fan case?

I'm in the process of stripping down my porsche fan assy (911SC)so I can get the fan & case fully polished

I have removed the fan & removed the long studs that hold the alternator to the porsche fan case. I have tried drifting the alternator out but the thing won't budge.

any tips as it is starting to frustrate me?
