Upgraded brakes on early beetle (early 60's)

Ok, I'm planning on putting a 2270 T4 in an early beetle.

I realize I'm going to need a brake upgrade.

I've been doing some reading here on GL, and see that most go to the 944 brakes, but I think that's because it's basically a bolt on for the late model (super) beetles, right?

What kinds of options do I have for an early 60's beetle? I just want to get something that would work nicely, I don't need 996 brakes or anything.

Any advice would be welcome!

EDIT: This is going to be a semi-daily driver.
