are your wheels ....
are your wheels hub centric or lug centric?
with the use of spacers by a lot of people here I'm figuring that the wheels you guys use are lug centric, is this right? does it really matter is the next question? Because I'm playing with the idea of using new brakes with a two peice rotor (rotor is seperate form the hub) this will space out the wheel away from the hub center ring, thus I can't center the wheel unless I use lug centric wheels. any thoughts? thanks rip |

several factors play into it. depends what hub you are running and what wheel you are running. spacers being made from scratch can be made to fit both. if running Porsche hubs and wheels, then all is hub centric. i think VW was lug, but don't recall. hub is a better fit and better assurance of straightness.

Also, the original Porsche spacers are hub-centered as well, but you have a good point. I do think that leaving the hub-centering with porsche wheels will give balance problems. I believe that I may have experienced this...

CB's roto-hubs are not hub-centric and work well. It is, however more likely to not spin true to the hub than Porsche hubs, and Porsche spacers.
Non hub-centric mounting is good enough for the street, but I wouldn't be doing nasty burnouts or going autocrossing with them. I also wouldn't put 250 ft.lbs. of torque to them either.
