rear shocks
I need to buy new rear shocks for my 1979 1303 "vert" with a 944 T suspension(alloy arms). On the front I have a kerscher adjustable suspension with red koni's. What should i drive in the rear, red ore yellow koni's or maybe an other brand? On ebay there is a pair of yellow 944T shocks that would bold perfect to my setup without any modification(I think). Any advice welcome!!

Whatever you choose, the bolt hole for the lower shock' mount is 14mm.
The 951 shocks are almost twice the size of a Bugs in every dimension! When I mock fitted my ali arms I noticed a mis-alignment between the top shocker bolt and the M12 thread in the chassis casting. Please tell me if you notice this too. I have only fitted up one side so far, just for What diameter rear torsion bars are you trying, if not the originals? I think they maybe too soft for a cornering Karmann :silly: Matt I'm happy with my Koni yellow's, adjustment set to 1 full turn back from maximum (2.5 turns min. to max.) |

Your remark finally made sense to me when I saw the Remmele rear coil-over set-up last weekend at Spa, where Remmele had a small stand. The Remmele set-up has heim-joints at the lower end ! and I think it is because of the mis-alignment you have noticed! The heim-joints correct the mis-alignment and also correct any mis-alignment during the in-and-out movement of the trailing arms. Man, his set-ups are well thought-out, but very expensive... Walter |

Wally,
Is their rear coil-over bespoke to the 951 arms on an IRS VW? I would love to see a Remelle display, his kit (what little I have seen) is all mind-blowing I agree. I'm not sure I can afford to get a price, let alone buy some! ![]() I am hoping to get over to Spa in the next couple of years, I've seen pics of VW's on the track and that sure is my cup of tea. I would love to have my T4 in place so I don't get mistaken for a Frenchman, or passed by a Bus! Thanks, Matt |

Price for a front coil-over set-up was 550 euro and rear coil-over was 740 euro. Lets say I asked it for you :-) Hope to see you next year at Spa. Truly a 'must-go' event. Greetings, Walter |
