Remmele style side air scoops?

I am really loving those side air scoops that the remmele bugs have! any one know where i can get some? or maybe that can be made from fiberglass at home? any one know the procces on how to instal them?

AND would they even make a noticeable difference in cooling when directed at the engine bay to feed the fan?

thanks!

after an exaustive search i found these.

looks like it could be adapted to fit.
Heres the link http://sn95brakes.cjb.net/

hope that helps some.

and a google search found me a wealth of info, search for NACA Brake Ducts.

(youd simply epoxy these to the inside of the panel, and cut a nice access in the side of your car. then run hose, where you'd need it.)

yeah i have been looking at the naca ducts, but i just love the Remmele ones so much better, they just fit the lines of the beetle so much better.

i might even try my hands on making my own out of fiberglass, never done anything like this, but you have to at least try!

I have bought mine (Remmele look-a-like airintakes) at Frankys VW Service in Holland..

This is what is told to me how i have to install them.
-At first you have to cut the hole for the intake
-Then you reces an edge to the inside of the car.. (the hole around)
-Then you gluy the intake against the recessed edge with windowgluy (proffesional gluy that they use when they gluy in new windows in de modern cars)
-Then you start laying fiberglass-plates from the recessed edge towards the intake,, so at the end the airintake is totally sealed to the body..

Mine airintake is hopefylly going in in about 2 / 3 months

Greetings Wiebrand
