Wheel question for opinions...

I have been saving up a set of new takeoff 996TT wheels and tires for a project. Now that I am blowing out the convert and reigning in the Manx, I am undecided on which wheels to use on the convert? I also have a like new set of Ruf wheels and the 996TT wheels. Which do you guys think would look best? Both are 18's with the Rufs using a 285 rear and the 996TT using a 295. Opinions?

Thanks,

Randy

No, Ruf is no good. You should probably just trade me for my Gemballas and be done with it. I would hate to see a good friend in such a delima, glad I could help out.

I bought another set of 996TT wheels and tires on Ebay. I then drove about four hours to go pick them up in NE Texas. The guy tells me that he has some other old "Porsche stuff" in the garage he wants to get rid of. In the corner were the set of Ruf wheels. The only stipulation was that if he sold me the Ruf wheels, I had to also take a set of CHROME 996TT hollow spoke wheels that were factory issue on his car.

Anybody want a cheap set of Chrome hollow spokes? (Not perfect, no tires, 18" X8F X11R)

I was happy to get the Ruf's as I will be installing the set of Ruf mirrors I found cheap on Rennlist a long time ago. I am glad everyone seems to agree the Rufs are the way to go on this car. Hopefully soon I will be driving my Ruf convert.

Thanks,

Randy

Thumbs up

I would LOVE to score a set of the older style that were 17's. They are on ebay all the time but still bringing premium prices...
I know it would be a step down from the 18" Gems but I always liked the early Ruf's.
