brakes on a lowered 1961 beetle

Hi there everyone,

Can anyone tell if a 1961 beetle which is lowered has a linkingpin frontsuspension or balljoint suspension?

Which is more tough?

thanks,
Robert

Link pin. All beetles thru 67. Both have their advantages, but a 61 is better off with linkpin.

true, assuming that the pan in a '61. one way to verify is to look at the suspension. though i had a pic handy but don't. if you want to post a pic we can verify for you. the other way to check is the VIN on the chassis. it is under the back seat cushion under the small oval panel (2 screws). shoot us that and we can verify year for you.
