Arrow Hard to find paint, I have to have!

I'm needing help, I found the perfect colour for my Ghia, but I went to the paint store and they can't mix it. So, I'm needing some help.

What I know, it's a european colour that came on special models. I also know the original paint code and the ppg paint code, but I just can't find the paint. If someone can help it would be greatly appreciated. I'll keep looking online and post my results here.

Thanks in advance.

Original code L64M
PPG code VAG65M
It's called APFELGUN (Apple Green)

try www.autobodydepot.net
you will have to call they to talk about paint. They are not allowed to put paint info on the web. I bought PPG paint from them for my son's car and their price can't be beat.

The color name sounded familiar beyond the fact there's a car in one of Keith Seume's books that features a German Looker of that color.

According to the Special Editions of Beetles Web site (sebeetles.com), Apple Green was used for a Swedish special edition called "The Extra Bug" and "The GT Beetle" in the UK -- both were 1973 model year editions. It also lists the color code as 46M, rather than L64M. (The site often leaves off the "L.") You might want to double-check the original code of yours.

I went to the resource I use for touch-up paint (paintscratch.com) and did a search of all of the VW paint codes of the '70s as well as searching for names and codes (both versions). I came up empty.

Perhaps someone in the UK or Sweden can help.
