Hood Pins...Where to place them?

Some of you may have read my insane rant on the 1303 hood hinge fiasco...

I now need to plac some hood pins at the window side of my bug to keep the damn thing on and to keep my paint from falling apart.
So what is the best way to mount these bad boys.
