Finaly started my T4

It was a great day. Pushing the cart thru the the type 4 store while Jake filled it with goodies. Best shoping spree I have ever been on. I the spent the rest of 2 days in the machine shop doing the case prep and balance. I ended up going with a 82x96 combo (2374). It will have a pair of 2L 914 heads with 46x38 valves and all the Len Hoffman tricks, a 1 3/4 A-1 exhaust, Mallory Unilite/Hyfire 6AL, 45 Dells, Kieth Black pistond, "H" beam Chromoly rods, DPR c/w crank, A Kenedy flywheel/press plate (that we put thru a drastic wieght loss program), DTM shroud, etc. After feeding all the numbers into Dynomation, Jake will be having a cam custom ground for the combo.

Man, your not kidding about flywheel diet plan. You think you could get the pistons balanced any closer . I'm glad to see the prez making progress on his own engine (for a change).

The pistons are easy. The rods are what give me fits(that whole big end, little end, total thing) but those are damn close to perfecct. The flywheel was hell to get after cutting that much meat off. But I got the crank/flywheel/press. plate/pully down to .01 oz/inch. :agree:

No_h20 why the use of the 82mm crank, i though jake didn't like anything over 80mm for a welded stroker.

Well it is all in the name of developing a new combo. He has used this crank with 102's and has a combo for that. But we are going to push the 96 bore up a bit. I agreed to this as my payment for building the Syder for Jake. We would develop a new combo and in the end of the project the engine woud be mine. I think it will be a win/win project. Jake will do the brain work and I will do the wrench work.
