More 915 Questions
Well i already have searched and researched alot of this but have come up with alot of different answers, especially with some new products on the market and so on. So ill go ahead and ask a few questions just to be sure . I just got my 915 in the other day and am excited to get this thing going!
1 What do i do as far as a throwout bearing goes ? 2 What clutch is best for this application ? 3 What flywheel ? (will be using type 1 engine) 4 I would like to use the stock clutch cable setup , I know ill have to relocate the clutch tube on the chassis, are there any more modifications needed to be done such as something on the transmission? 5 what axles/cv joints are best for this? Thanks alot , im just checking my options and checking the information i have already gotten for errors. |

1: 915 uses an odd pressure plate/bearing design so I'd stick with one designed for the 915
2: I'd use the stock 915 3: KEP do a flywheel fro this application 4: The cable strength is marginal for this application and you won't get enough stroke. I modified my pedal hook to make it longer, you could also shorten the arm at the trans end 5: depends on year of trans as there are a couple of different patterns of CV flange

There are several ways to get the 915 to work in a conversion.
My 915 is an '85 year model, and has a "push type" throw-out bearing arm. The drive flanges (on mine) fit either 944 or T2 CV's. I went with conversion parts from Bugat5speed. They can help with conversion questions, and parts. They are members on here, Jeff is the US contact, and Martin Bott is the Owner, based out of Germany.
