Wanted to know what exhaust size and system would best benefit my type 1 1915 dual 44 weber engine.

Well are you running heater boxes or not? if not; I'd get a 1 1/2 merged header and choose a style of muffler that suits your tastes. Phatboys are noisey as fook, but look the best in my opinion.

Im running this combo on my 1956cc and i dont think you can beat it for price/quality. but like i said it's LOUD!

The header comes raw but clean it well and throw some high heat paint on and it will look good for a season or so.

no heater boxes. I'm sort of running that now except for the fatboy. Is there any advantage to going 2"?

2" tubing for the header? thats WAAAAY overkill.

1 1/2 is the biggest i'd recommend for your size motor. If you go to big then you loose some of the restriction needed for "scavenging".

Although a poor flowing exhast is a bad thing, one that flows too well is equally as bad.

how big are your exhast ports on your head? i bet that they are 1 1/2 or smaller?
For example if your exhaust ports where the flanges bolt up are 4 inches, why would you use a 6 inch exhasut pipe? You make no gains because the head opening will only allow so much to exit, and as i said earlier scavenging....

1 1/2 is perfect for that size motor. But that's just my opinion.

Hello

as Alex said, 2" is too big for your application, I will run a 2" collector on a 2387 engine with 48X40 valves and still the first 35cm of each primary is made of 1 7/8 tubing and then continuous with 2", just my opinion also..

Friendly
