Rubber hold down strips
I have to replace the strips under the bonnet where the seal tucks in (the one that holds that big rubber strip in place). How should I attach it? Small pop rivets? Epoxy? Welding is out of the question.
Thanks Don

Are you talking about the metal channel that the seal are slipped into?

Yeah, that's the one. I've decided to go with the late model seal in front that clips to the hood from Aircooled.net. A lot less work than installing new strips. In the rear however, I've got to replace just one 10 inch section. I'm thinking about pop riveting that section in because I understand these strips rust out fairly regularly. With pop rivets, it'd be easy to replace them without screwing up the paint. Epoxy is pretty much out, because it would take chunks of paint off with it. Good idea?

hey man if your gonna go through all that work replacing the seal channels in the front you whouls do the same for the back as well...ac.net has the same style of seal for the decklid....it would look even as well.
Thats what I had to do...it looks nice!
