hi, i bought a narrowed beam from rlr and it was a new german beam that was narrowed 3", it came with matching tie rods. they said no body mods were needed with a 3" beam, but i had to stand on the rail betweem the gas tank hole and the spare tire well to get the top 2 bolts in as the inner fenders were hitting the shock mounting plates.next one i get im going to specify that i want one that has the single thickness steel plate instead of the stock shock mounting tower.could have been the car, could have been miscommunication.naturally, ididnt fit it before i painted it.

Hi Paul,
I see you live in New Zeland, that makes your car aright hand drive, I think your best best would be contact KIM he's in NSW. If you deal with anyone in the US you might have to send them your beam....loads ah money!!!!! Good luck, Rob. |

Quick steer kits in Ball joint beetles
I have manged to track down a 4" narrowed beam in New Zealand and it is being fitted as we speak. I have heard of people running quick steer kits on their beetles to combat the problems that you get by having shortend tie rods. Does any have any experance with this or know of any companies that deal with the quick steer kits.
