Is a 2.0L motor out of a '77 bus considered a type 4 ? If so anyone know stock hp figures and what are your opinions on this motor for the base of a Hi-Po motor ?

yes this is a Type 4, and it put out 67hp stock assuming its a GD engine code.
any type 4 case is a good place to start, you may need different heads if yours have the square exhaust ports, find a set of 1.8L heads they have tle largest stock valves off all they type 4's except the 2.0L 914 engine (much more money for these) runn a little bigger P&C's have some head work done and bump up the compression ratio a bit and you have a hot engine. there a re plenty of people out there that know these engines much better than I do
