Excitement is Building, Vroom, Vroom

Well things are being to move along nicely, this last weekend my friend and
I re-intalled "my" rebuilt 1641 engine into the beetle. After some extra work
and struggle with bell housing and engine alignment we finally got it right and
together she went. We double checked everything, did a dry run to get oil
pressure up to 20 psi and then called it a day. Tonight after re-installing
the miscellaneous components, removal and re-install the distributor drive
gear and timing set-up we were really. Another check, little gas primer (fire
extingusher nearby) it was time to fire her up.

After a couple of tries and primer we have ignition, and lots of oil smoke since
we well lubricated the cylinders, etc to make sure we were good for start up
and initial brak in. Crank her up and VROOM - VROOM we are in business and
smiling from ear to ear, we did it and she even sounds decent ! (Not that we
were surprises or anything but just been about twenty years since my last
engine rebuild - 327 Chev power).

Looking forward to our next meeting on the 9th. and may even bring along
some pictures or Video clips. There really is light at the end of the tunnel
and it's not a freight train a comin'. See you all soon.
