915 rod thingy
What is the rod for that comes out of the driver's side front of the 915 transmission? (circled in the picture.)
Does anyone know if you can hook up an early, aftermarket (Red urethane) VW shift rod connector to the shift rod on the 915 tranny? Thanks! JiI

That rod sticking out of your 915 looks like it is for the 911 throttle linkage.
The urethane vw aftermarket shift coupler fit on my 901 transmission no problem, in my ghia I did use a dune buggy shortening kit to dial in the rod length Bryan

Throttle linkage? Does it have anything to do with the transmission? Is it needed?
