After many years of primer its painted

Hello, I thought you may be interested to see the paint on my bug this is oven fresh......so has not been sanded and polished there are about 3 coates of colour and 3 of laquer then baked on.
I was lucky enough to be able to rent a booth with two ovens.
My mate alex is a painter at BMW so he did most of it, i had a go and did the under side of the wings and bonnet. After paintig a few bit i felt very confident and wanted to go on to paint the body but we only had eight hours of booth time so Alex had to paint most of THANKS ALEX
Colour is the new BMW mini cooper grey and its beautiful

that is one nice bug!

The color is beautiful and is actually what i had initially envisioned for my own car. I ended up with the paint color I have now after seeing n old mustang they had there and I liked it. Your color is awsome.
Hey....What's that little vent mod on the hood do? Did you do that yourself?

Great color and an awesome finish. Nice to make progress isn't it. Mine was in primer for a long time too. Now comes the fun part. Putting it back together. Cheers!

vent huh?

That sounds very cool...I'd really like to see that.
I was wondering if it would be a good idea to put a couple of little air scoops in the hood just to get some more air in the ****pit.

I'd like to know how that works.

Uber Affe,

I've never had that problem, as I always seems to get too much air into the ****pit from a lousy hood seal

Turbonutta,

Post the shots of the console, as I'd love to see it as well.

Cheers,

Doug

As requested this a photo of the dash/center console, i have moved the gear lever back two inches so i could get a nice swoopy center console. The audi TT air vent takes air from the bonnet vent. The console house adjustable boost control a Porsche Cayenne cigarette lighter/Torch and push start button (illuminated of course)Above the console sits a set of new bmw mini switches... Very cool
