901 is an Easier install then the 915. Dont have to cut away as much.

But the 915 has a better shift pattern like most new cars (not dogleg like 901) and can handle more horsrepower then the 901.

The 901 was also used in the 914 with the gears switched around for the mid engine application so it is definitely setup to work with a type 4 engine.

The 915 was only used with the Porsche 6 cylinder so the stock gearing may not be as suitable to the T4 as the 901 gearing.
