Up a highway without a tire...
I have a girlfriend in Canada, and I was visiting her for the past two weeks. On my way back home yesterday. I ran into some trouble, one of my rear tires started to show its age by shedding its tred. So I pulled over and put the spare on. My original spare was flat. So I pulled a wheel, that held air, off of my Ghia pan before I left for Canada. I thought it was a good move but as it turns out the new spare was worse than my original tire. It shedded more tred. Now I'm stuck in Dayton, Ohio. I tried to find a tire last night but every place closed at 7pm or earlier. My plan for tomarrow is find a set of good used tires, Larry's off road, or a pair of matching size tires for the rear. The only good thing is that both tires still hold air, so I can drive the car, and I have AAA so I can get it towed up to 100 miles. Other than that, the car is driving great.
I don't have a clue how old the tires were, but word to the wise. Check your tires. Sound like fun? It's not too bad, just another adventure with my VW.
