Question 944 Rear Suspension Removal

Hi All,
I'm about to make an assault on a poor hapless 944 carcass at the local U-Pull-It junkyard...
Specifically, the torsion bars and spring plates.
Looking up under the car, the 944 is kind of wierd.
THe end-caps on the torsion housing don't look like they just "come off".
Or do they?
Do you have to drop the whole housing in order to get the end-caps off, and bars out?
Putting together the tools to get everything in one shot,
What would be needed, and what to watch out for?
