Sounds like its worth looking into but 3 points to note:
1) Whats the spring rate and the o/a unloaded length? 2) Will the spring fit the upper cup? 3) I think there is a bulge at the top of the standard strut body for the standard screw in fitting that will prevent any cosy fitting cup or sleeve sliding on. How is the bottom cup secured? I've not had a good look at Golf (Rabbit) spring/damper rears Clive
