also the t1 world has been invaded by cheap and crap parts. where the t4 hasnt at this stage. saying that we are just starting to see them.
but a previously said the t4 was a progression of the t1. having driven both a bug with both a t1 and a t4 fitted they are a different type of power. its also about percentage of modification ultimately leading to longevity. to make a t1 2.2L is about a 50% or more modification depending on what you started with. to make a t4 2.2 even from the smallest ie 1800 is about a 20-30% modification. leading to a easier running motor. hell we have seen t4 up to 3L and they are daily drivers.
