Another option is transparent model car paint, such as from Testors.

I found these a little while ago, never got around to installing some 914 gauges on the bus, but when i do http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...spagenameZWDVW Does anyone know if the stock transporter gauges use the same bulbs as the 914's? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...spagenameZWDVW

Hi
Years ago I bought some stuff from a speed shop called bulb dye, it was available in a few colours, but it did slightly dim the bulb output, not good when your getting on in years. Some paints may blacken with continued use. Steve

Well i got rid of the bulbs and instead placed some blue leds, and for the gauge needle i placed a red led above the speedo. ended up looking like this
![]() Pic is blurry since it was taken a while ago with an old cell phone, and it really doesn't reflect the look. if you like it i could take a better pic.
