Hmmmm, so tempting. The wrx engine in the beetle engine will turn some heads. I was even offered sponsorship by a wrx performance store when I was first thinking about the engine swap. Still so tempting...

WRX into a Beetle

This sounds like a fun conversion. My interest has been piqued. I priced some engines today...$4k for 300 hp isn't too bad ....boygenius let me know what comes of this. I would love to learn more about what will go into it and everything.

Engine swap not certian yet.

I don't know if I'm going to go the engine swap route. The hp per dollar ratio is very good but there is just something about the sound and simplicity of an air cooled vw engine. Check out the thread "and so it begins" Rob is putting the subaru 2.5 liter engine in his car.

Just since you guys here like the wrx in beetle idea:
Must say, even I like this car:

Its a Belgium car with a 300hp WRX engine. I hope it will come to the Spa/Francorchamp meeting.
Can you say GermanLook...

Greetings,
Walter

WOW. I like that. Those are the mirrors I have been looking at. That is what I was going to do to my hood. Somebody already beat me to it.

hmmmm, that hood.
Kerscher used to have that hood IIRC. I remember seeing it on the green bug in the picture of some of their old advertisements.
Don't know if they ever had that hood, or if they still do have it.

It's an awesome car for sure, but does it have an aftermarket EFI-system?

Cheers,
Richard

If not a wrx engine then maybe a ej20TT. Those make about 280hp and can be snagged off ebay for some reasonable prices.
