@ 65cabby, how much did you pay for it if you don't mind me asking?

Lets just say it came in a box of bits as I'm not sure I could have spent this much money, I'm thinking I might want to use a Gene Berg shifter anyway. But I have a receipt from powertuningparts for 595 euros delivered to the uk which worked out at about £400
It was a special order RHD for a 5 speed, in case that makes a difference but I've not seen any published prices from either Knuf or GWD |

I heard of a French company today that makes similar shifters for rally applications for different brands, that shifter works by pushing forward for going up a gear and pulling backward for going down a gear and is supposedly priced a 325 Euro. I'll see if I can get more info on it tomorrow but I don't think the GWD shifter works like this (could be wrong)

I've got one - it works like a charm. I shortened my ebrake lever a bit.
Installation was.......interesting - what with the instructions in german and all. I got mine directly from GWD. Dan |

@danielzink, very nice project.
I see you went from a Gene Berg to a GWD shifter (those are my 2 options), what are the differences between the 2 and is the extra cost of the GWD worth it in your opinion? Does the GWD shift like a sequential shifter (see my previous post) or like a regular VW Bug shifter? |

I've seen Dan's car and the shifter in person. Both are sweet... :agree: :agree:

i have this shifter in my car.Works with 901 tranny.Although is too short,its difficult to change 1,2 in timely manner.It feels very stiff.Probably works better with the vw transmissions.I would say go for it,if no 901 its being used.
