Main bearing seizure.

I have a qeustion for you fellas. Now that I have removed the seized main bearing(Pulley side), I noticed the marks inside the bearing were it is scorned. I also however noticed some light marks on the crankshaft corrisponding to the ones in the bearing. It looks like the metal of the bearing has been 'deposited' onto the c/s. My thinking is that this can be removed with very fine wirewool without damaging the c/s. Is this so? If not, how does one go about cleaning up the c/s?

Thanks in advance!
