The BBS wheels are one-piece forged as well, and weigh only 2/10ths of a pound more (10.2 v. 10.0). They cost $100 more each, however.
So, stick with the Traklite wheels. You don't want wheels that look similar to mine.

I like the Kosei rims.....
If you are going with 15's you'll probably want to make sure you do not get a too 'thin' tire. Here's what I have, and in order to make it look right I'd have to lower the car too much. (I can't go lower in the rear because of the sube motor) http://www.vanbran.com/movies/bug/107_0760.AVI I had to use spacers all around to keep some of the steering.... BTW, they are 15" Enkei rims. What would be better, disc brakes or just keep the drum brakes? My motors stock for now and was thinking bout just staying with drums, they should be strong enough since im gonna run a lower profile tire up front than the rear, kinda like mix the cal and german look sort of. |

The rims are Enkei RP02 15x6.5 rims with Kumho 712 Ecsta Supra 205/50ZR15 Tires.
It was a major PITA getting it all fitted, but that was mostly my own fault since I didn't research things enough. Of course I had to change the bolt pattern, so I initially ordered blank disks for the front. The machine shop butchered them drilling the holes, so after further investigation I found rotors with the correct pattern. Then I need studs that were long enough...... then I needed tuner lugnuts that would fit the holes (you can't fit a socket around them). When I finally had them mounted, I had virtually no steering left since the rims hit the frame on the inside, so then I had to get spacers.... So, I'd say you are on the right track by investigating things before you buy .You'll need to get new drums for the new boltpattern, so you might as well fork out the cash and get the disks for at least the front. Also look at the Rota SubZero.... I always loved those rims. I also really like the ones you posted with the black spokes... mostly because they give you a nice 'lip'. Hope this helps. Rob. |

Rob is your bug a standard or super beetle?What size spacers did you need for the front, and how far does a 15x6.5inch rim stick out if it does I mean.

Veedub.... just noticed yours is a super....sorry, mine is a standard.
In any case, the spacers are about 1/2" : ![]() In the front the wheels are sticking out this much: ![]() I'm not a big fan of wheels with the (real or fake) bolts around the rim. I like the wheels simple. Rays Engineering's Volk TE37 is my favorite wheel (but expensive). They look a bit like the Rota Flight's that are in the link of your previous post. Rob.
