2" tubing for the header? thats WAAAAY overkill.
1 1/2 is the biggest i'd recommend for your size motor. If you go to big then you loose some of the restriction needed for "scavenging". Although a poor flowing exhast is a bad thing, one that flows too well is equally as bad. how big are your exhast ports on your head? i bet that they are 1 1/2 or smaller? For example if your exhaust ports where the flanges bolt up are 4 inches, why would you use a 6 inch exhasut pipe? You make no gains because the head opening will only allow so much to exit, and as i said earlier scavenging.... 1 1/2 is perfect for that size motor. But that's just my opinion. Alex

Hello
as Alex said, 2" is too big for your application, I will run a 2" collector on a 2387 engine with 48X40 valves and still the first 35cm of each primary is made of 1 7/8 tubing and then continuous with 2", just my opinion also.. Friendly JIMP |
