Try 1.65mm mains, and 1.80mm air correctors. Sounds like your engine is lean. What size venturis are your 44's equipped with?
...also, how far out are the mixture screws? If they are out more than two or three complete turns, you could go up to say,..60mm idle jets and get some enrichment there. Yetibone
