14 or 15 inch wheels? (Solo-2)

does any one make 14 inch wheels in 4/130? or is that even what i want to be doing? i plan on making my 74 super into a Solo-2 car so i was thinking smaller wheels= faster spool up?

any comments?

not sure about 4 x 130, but in Porsche 5 x 130 I have seen 14" Fuchs.

If you are looking for a really small tire you can run a 175/55/15 or 195/45/15 and these will be lower then any 14" tire that I know of.

I would highly recommend going with 13 inch wheels...if you're in a class that allows such small wheels. Race tires for that size are cheaper and available in a larger variety of sizes. I have 15 inch race wheels from www.diamondracingwheels.com They are light weight (mine weigh 19 lbs each at 15X8) and they are available in just about any bolt pattern you want. They're also dirt cheap at about 60 bucks a piece.

some old skodas came with 13" or 14" wheels on the 4x130 bolt pattern. If you have disk brakes however, these will not be big enough to clear the caliper. If you have drums you'll be ok...

I also had Diamonds when I solo 2'd my super. 13X7's. They were only 13 lbs ea. They are spun steel. Race only. Not for street. Cheap too. I think I paid around $250.

Mine are different. I have the mini-lites. They are a different looking wheel and silver. The wheels are at my garage. I'm working a bit of OT. I'll have pics soon.
