944T brake upgrade

This is for all the brake experts out there.

I started finding parts for my brake upgrade over a year ago and I finally have all the parts I think I need. I haven't been on this forum in a while so I wanted to see if I'm still heading in the right direction.

The parts I have are at VDubCustoms right now for machining but there is some questions if I have the correct setup.

Here's what I have:

CB lowered drum spindles
944T hubs, rotors and calipers

Lanner was going to machine the hub for VW bearings with spacers and then machine the spindle for the calipers to be bolted directly with no spacers or brackets.

Is anyone running this setup that can give me a breakdown on what needs to be done?

By the way this is for a ball joint pan with a 55 body.

Thanks,
Jason

Well you sent your brakes to the right place. I went the other route and had Lanner make spacers on the spindle so I could use the 944 bearings. The only thing I could think of that might be a problem is the brake line lengths. I got lucky and I can use the stock ones with no problems.

Sorry, single piston 944 calipers. They are the 944 kit on the vdubcustoms website.

i have the 951's. johnh made bearing spacers/sleeves for the spindle to bring the ID out to the Porsche bearings. so all stock save the spacers. the spindles had to be machined for the calipers though as well.

note also that the calipers are spaced stock on a 951 too. so plan on having to use spacers at the caliper mount if you are mounting straight to the spindle. i don't know how Lanner's kits look so he may account for that already.

i have been sitting on some pics. they are on a different computer. i will get some posted.
