Parking light question
I have read that some European beetles have a feature that allows you to turn on only one side of the marker lights when you are parked on the side of a dark, busy road. I have all the pieces to allow me to have this feature but I don't know how to wire it up. I've looked on the internet but coldn't find anything on in. Does anybody know how to do this?

I have not seen a schematic for the Euro Beetle. I would bet that the select switch would go inline with the parking lights(between the swithch and the lights) so you can select one side or both. It shouldn't be too hard to figure out. If memory servs me it should go Headlight/Park light switch, select switch, fuse block (I think each light has its own fuse) then to the lights. You can use an ohm meter to check the feed path thru the select switch.
Hope this helps.

i don't think it's supposed to be that way but on my 914 if i leave the blinker on the turn indicators and side maker light up for that side. I'm going to say thats a euro feature now .
