My oval on the chopping block...

It's cal-look, but a solid car none the less.

I set the reserve at $7500. It's a big loss for us but the research I been doing for the past month says thats top dollar for one in this shape. We may have to re-evaluate near the end of the auction if the bids are weak.

good luck. looks like it is getting close already. if i didn't know you needed cold hard cash, i would be tempting you with a ghia trade. i always wanted an oval. my wife would kick my but at this point though. some of my fleet has to go.

Talking

The oval is not quite as nice as the ghia, I would have to add a stack of cash and that's even worse. I could see us both getting killed. Now I'm gonna be thinkin' bout the ghia all day, you suck!
Have you tried ebay yet with the ghia? I've got 56 people watching the sale and had offers from as far as the UK. There's no gaurantee the winner will come through with the cash and I might have to relist but you get a ton of exposure.
Here's the weird part, I've had a few questions but most of it about the reserve. Out of all the people watching, only one guy wanted to call me and talk about the car (hasn't yet) and he isn't even one of the bidders. They are gonna spend 7k on an old car and they don't ask any real questions?? I didn't list on the Samba because it would have been just the opposite, a million questions about what wasn't original and how I was crazy and would never get that much money.

i'm feeling you on the Samba thing. lots of questions on the narrowed rear. i have an offer pending, so haven't gone the ebay route. i haven't been in a real big hurry, but am ready to have the garage space back for the new baby. we will see what happens with this deal. it may be going back home to Cali.

Reserve dropped to $6800. I have no doubt it will make it to $7k and that is the number my wife wanted to see.
This new house is soooo awesome, I don't have a minutes regret. I would even sell the panel if that's what it takes. Luckily, we aren't that far in the red... yet !
