Wheels would have been 1.5" ('bout 76mm) too far in under those CCC rear fenders. I wanted the car wider at both ends. I really wanted it 3" total in front, and 6" total in the rear, but Had to settle for 4" wider in front because CCC didn't make a 1.5" wider front fender.
Now I need about 7/8" (22mm) front spacers to make me happy.

It's been awfully long since I'd posted anything about my car. I'd been working on it during the evenings and weekends that I could, but haven't actually posted anything about it since there's been no real news to report. Over the holidays I've had enough time to really work on it, so I re-assembled the engine after replacing the pick-up tube, and the bearings, installed it in the car, made some corrections to how the engine sat in the compartment, and a few minutes ago, drove it (without a windshield ) out to the pavement to break the rings in.
What a drive. First time I've driven it...I wish I had a windshield so I could drive it some more. I'll post pics after I paint the back bumper, and install the windshield.

Sweet. Good to hear it is on the road. I have some goggles I can send up so you can give it a good thrashing.

Thx guys. I'd take you both up on the offers because the glass co. said they chipped the edge of my windshield, and can't get me another 'till Monday (which pi$$es me off ), so I took to driving some more today with safety glasses to see how hot the engine would get.
So far, the heads were 320 (L) and 330 (R) and the oil was about 210 after a 5 minute warm-up, and 20 minute drive back and fourth on 3/4 mile of asphalt. The inlet side of the front cooler just started to warm up.

I also managed to get 4' of 1.5" diameter 33% perforated tubing to make a pair of ANSA style resonators, which I haven't done yet. I have to use the remaining 3' to make a muffler that'll last more than a year for my neighbor's Kubota Diesel.
