My alternative
Not HID, but something similar. I got these 7' sealed beam replacement projector headlights with a halo ring for AU$150 a pair. I think they use a H$ bulb. They will fit into a standard US Spec headlight housing:-
Looks like you've got the gas cooker on around your light Cheers Steve |

I spoke to the guy that's selling these as I was interested in buying these myself and the problem with those lights is that there is no provision for Hi-beam and for a beetle renders these useless unfortunately.......
have you got them as yet? does it look like you can make them work for Hi-beam?? Cheers |

Hi
I just bought some 911 headlights from a company in the UK http://www.design911.co.uk, I also bought a HID conversion from them that looks promising. Steve

Hi
My 911 headlights just arrived from the UK, I also ordered a Xenon kit. I've temporarily given up on adapting the Hella modules that I have. Steve

Hi
I can do that, just need a bit of time to do a proper test. Might even do a youtube video. Steve

I found these a while ago, and have been thinking about trying a set once I've got a little more money set back. Thought maybe you guys would be interested.

Looks good but for us non sealed beam pre67 headlight owners it wouldn't work.

I see that the HID conversion is also advertised but as I said earlier most conversions are 'for off road use only' in Europe as our Regs require a tight pattern control on the HIDs that the conversions cannot guaranttee especially with older glass patterned lenses. Clive |
