These lights too weird and retro?

Before it starts and I thought about it before I even started typing. Yes, This is just freaking weird, but i want opinions anyway...and not the 100 people looked and zero replies kind like I got on the dash Ideas thread. That's just plain mean! heheh...anyway with that said...and Yes, I AM INSANE! just look at the pic and cast your judgments.
I am accepting:

"What were you thinking?!"
"Uhm...this is "german look" not "F.ound O.n R.oad D.ead look""
"Hmmmmmmph....."
and my favorite...
"What color crack are you smoking again?"

Thanks for your input.

I like them, they look differant, but they still look similar to the old style with the parking light in the housing.

I personaly, don't think they're TOO weird and retro, but hey. I know I'm crazy.

But it's all good, anywho. they're cool man.

I like the way they look but I'm not to sure if they would look good on a GL car. What car are they from or what car are they for. I think they might look good on a hot rod retro beetle.

Wow! thanks for the quick response!

Yeah...I was thinking they might be too streetrod looking too. I DID find them in a street rod site. They were made for a late 30's Ford. Read my other post. I found some cool dash stuff at dakota digital. If you look at the car show gallery section and see the convertible Porsche speedsters. THAT is the dash look I want in my 1303 only with a bit of grainy black leather capped off with one of these...(see pics).

I did catch onto the "F.ound O.n R.oad D.ead" text. The first dash looks very
retro and would be at home in a 60"s custom sports car and the second looks more modern. Although I'm not a big fan of the machined groove dash look. It's a tough choice between the two of them.

i like the ideas but not for a gl car, although its your car and do what you like. but i do think it would look sweet in a rat rod, but i do think a your taste lean more to that. build what you lke and dont let boundries keep you in. start a new style! :agree:

Unhappy

Some nice looking goodies there, but I have to agree that although they will look real cool on a Beetle just as long as it's not a GL

URK! Go read my posts on what I'm doin to the car.

I'm not "ratting", "rodding" it, goin cal or baja...
Now....look at this way.

"Retro-German-Look"
Tricky?
yes.
Possible?
I think so.
Just a matter of finding the right bits.
that's why I ask you guys.
I'm not givin up on "german-Look"...
Just "tweaking" it a bit.
Just read my other posts and you'll get it.
It's not going to be easy, but I think it is possible.
