How was your long weekend?
This weekend was all about the ACVW's for me.
Have my buddy Andrew hooked on the ACVW's. Have been dragging him out to cruises/meets/shows for years. So, Sat went to Oshawa to look at a resto custon 61 rag for him. Really nice pan off last year. Offered the owner full price and he backed out cause his wife didn't want it gone. Terrible. Sat night cruised downtown for the caribana party. Cruised Adelaide, Richmond, Yonge, Queens Quay, Yorkville, and the Danforth. Lots of looks and great comments with the super's bling from the crowd. Sun, finally with the super 95% done again, worked on the split. Finished off the doors, window rubber/scrapers (what a PAIN), and carbon panels. Looked at remounting options for some other stuff. Mon, mounted/mocked up fenders, running boards, hood, and tossed in the carbon crotch cooler plates (until the others come back from the bodyman). Dropped the front coilovers as far as they can go, and it still sits to high for me. Maybe install some dropped spindles? Tried dropping the rear and ran into a few problems: http://www.germanlook.com/Forums/sho...?t=1634&page=2 Everything on the car, even now, has needed to be modified, changed or massaged. Lots of surprises, by no means a bolt together deal. Been awhile since the splitty has been posted, so here ya go: Fenders on: Jack holding up the rear with the coilovers unbolted: Door complete: The end of today: Notice the WHITE CARPET? Beats lying down on the concrete!

Lookin' good Pete. Get 'er done so we can kick some US butt again in Georgia.
I hear ya on the modifying thing. What a pain when you have a timeline to follow.... Even if you stay fairly stock it's still a pain to get the stuff to fit. |

Picked up the new PP/clutch from Greg on Sunday and noticed he also has white carpet in the garage Looking great Pete ... Greg the vert is going to look awesome when its complete, top notch job and attention to detail.
I have a mechanics creaper to roll around underneith the bug so no carpet for me The parts for the clutch swap are on the work bench but the kids would not give me any time to do any meaningful work. Its going to be tough to find the time needed to be ready for Pickering. Sandeep |

My car is back on the road, and been BEATING on it, it will make it to the drag day for sure though Greg are we convoying it up to the dyno day from your place? Alex

Alex:
What drag day??? Yes, we are leaving from my place 7:45am. Mapquest says just over 50 minutes to the dyno location. Tuned Perfection is a main sponsor of the Dyno Day event so I figured I should really be on time if not early. Ben will be here with his buggy again, minus the oil leak. Maybe we'll pick up some others along the way... I'm staying at the Motel 6 on Saturday night if anyone cares.... Also, 2nd annual end of summer cruise is slated for September 23 this year. Same destination as last year, a little bit different route. I'll start another post on it. And check my website for updates. Sorry to jack the post Pete but Alex started it |

well it appears that once again the machine shop fumes have wracked my brain. i meant to say "dyno day" not drag day.... I would like to do another drag day though!
I'll cruise up with you Greg, hopefully pick up some other punks like ourselves along the way! Alex PS i figured that i may as well threadjack the ****e out of this, because i know that these small pics do not do this car justice! So instead of making us drool, i thought id try to take our minds elsewhere

Thanks for the comments! I'm finally getting some time to spend on it.
Lets meet up somewhere along the 401 to cruise out to the dyno. Who's staying at the hotel? Quote:
