i need extra cooling. Whats out there?
Hello folks
I'm running a 2 litre (CJ) bay camper van off LPG instead of petrol (LPG is the brittish name, the rest of Europe calls it AUTOGAS). It runs really well on LPG but if I drive over 55mph then the cylinder head temperature soars to 400 which is pretty much its limit, so I cant go any faster Ill cook the engine. Everything else in the engine is stock, so how can get the engine to run cooler, so I can drive faster? Also if your breaking new piston rings in, how long do you need to break them? Whats the differance between petrol and LPG? Is it some form of lower grade fuel? Does your engine run as hot on petrol? Are your carbs set up properly or is your fuel injection working properly. There are several ways to keep your engine cooler. You can always install a larger oil cooler, then there is a porsche style fan shroud. I haven't been much help but I try.
