rack and pinion for 74sb

hiI have a question about installing a rack and pinion to non rack and pinion super beetle, what else do I need? I have the rack and pinion with mounts from sb 1975, do I nee to change my steering column/copler or other else?

the steering shaft with universals is a different lenght so you will need it as well

ive got it all sitting here waiting to go in mine, just been putting if off as the frame head needs clearancing a bit under the wheel well

Hi

This is what the chassis looks like underneath. The chassis clearancing would be the biggest headache, maybe weld in a 1/2 tube. I've only done it on a 1302 and it needed a lot of work, maybe the later bugs don't need as much.

hi, do you think with the 74 model will only need the frame head cut and none on the spare tire well?

is this the 75 model or the pre 75?thanks

The photos is from a 75 I wrecked, it had the rack & pinion that Joel has now.
