To make it as strong as possible the extra piece was hammered to a "hat shape" so it attaches under the fender's edge on both side. The outer side of the rear fender had to be shorten to keep the original shape and to line up with the running board.

Btw the +5 cm should be over on the limit where stock running boards can be used, at least mine looked awful (no pictures). The front section of the fender was sliced up again and got a "V" shape so the bottom edge is near to stock now and it looks ok to me.

After the second test fit it was good enough to go ahead, time to extend the bumper brackets (30mm) to clear the fenders.

This is it for now, I hope I get them back from the painter in a few days/weeks.

I will have to relocate the rear lights once the fenders are ready

Looks very nice. Do you have any pictures of your process of widening the front? I liked seeing how you got the rear to look right

I changed my rear tyres from 215/45 to 205/45 as I needed more space for fender clearence.

Sidenote: Originally I was planning 205/45 as well but the PZero I put on the 8" had too much strech for my taste so I upgraded to 215. As PZeros are not available in 215 I bought a pair of new Conti Premium2s that seemed to be at least 225s or so when monted! Long story short I found that Contis are more robust, while Pirellis are more narrow than any other tyres in the same size. Finally I choose Michelin PilotSport3, it is said to be a very good street tyre on low weight cars (MX-5, Clio Sport etc.) and the 205/45 fits perfectly for the 8 wide rims, exactly what I wanted at the beginning.

Continental:

Michelin:

Than came 6 month pause due to a knee injury Good opportunity to order the missing parts and to think about detailing.

In June I managed to visit the Bugrun in Sweden, Mantorp. Was a great event! Click for the pictures here:

July - back on working

Brakes are ready, the pedal is firm and both of brake and clutch operates well. Front is converted to studs so I can use same bolt on all wheels.

Sunroof is installed, works great.
