944 E brake lever

Hi

I bought the whole rear end out of a 86 944 for my new car, has anyone ever used the 944 E brake system including the cables and inside lever, it looks do-able.

That's what most people do Steve, certainly easy to do. I used Lanner's kit which made it extremely easy but you can mod the parts to take a stock beetle cable. Pics are on my website.

Hi Rich

I think that I didint make myself clear with this post.

I want to use the original 944 inside (the car) handbrake lever and 944 hand brake cables, not the adaptors that still use the Beetle cable and inside lever. I did use Beetle cable and inside lever on my 1302 and while the handbrake held on a hill, as an emergency brake it was useless, it would not stop the car from any sort of speed. I suspect that the ratio between the stock Beetle lever and the 944 brakes was wrong.
