i have a 1600 and i'm planning on putting on a set of 40drla's from an alfa.

i've asked a few prominent builders and they suggested:
34 vent
135 mains
50/55 idles
180 airs/200 airs
i've ordered the update kit from cb and will receive soon.

the vents are definitely too small for your application.

hello
got some new stuff for my dells today 145 and 155 mains some 38 pumps a set of new idle screws and some 25mm tall stacks.

fitted the 145 mains at dinner and noticed no gain in performance really but its -5 c at the moment so icant push to hard anyway i didnt notice a drop in performance either it just sounds a little crisper i feel .

will fit my stacks tommoro and its supposed to warm up a bit so mayby i will get out on the autobahn for a bit of high speed testing.

i still have a little shake at about 1700 rpm it is a linkage problem i am not getting an equal pull on the carbs for some reason with my ballancer they check out fine mind. more fidling required.

will fit my new idle screws as well these will help as i can see the new ones look better straight away.

sod it i may just throw in the 38 pumps as well and see how it goes with them i will let ya know.

neil verdon.

welllll !!!
turns out when it warmed up a bit and i could properly test that the 145 mains where too lean !

fitted 155 mains now and its good real good fitted tthe 25mm stacks too cool.

this thing is moving !

ive got cromoly pushrods and ive changed the way im setting them as well they were real noisey set so i could just turn them at tdc but i had noticed that as no1 was at tdc no2 inlet would be loose again .

now as i understand it this is because tdc isnt necersarily the heal of the cam lobe and we have to find the sweet spot so to speak of the cam and set the valves there .

im really thinking about saying sod it and just setting them hot as well a hot setting of 0.15mm on the sweet spot on the cam the heel .

since tightning the clearance on my cam its quieter when fully warm also mind it pops and farts now for 30 secs when cold in the mornings

the slight shake i had is gone thank god .

im loveing every minute of driveing this thing.
