66 Bug Rim question?

http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...l%3Den%26lr%3D

17x7 5x100 Bolt Pattern 48mm offset or
I could also get them in 4x100 45mm offset...

What do you suggest?

Shouldnt have any problem with these providing I get some blank disc brakes and have them drilled for the pattern?

Thanks
Andrew

A lot depends on your setup - link pin vs ball joint (can't remember which year in the US they changed to BJ)...also dropped spindles or not.

I ran 17x7.5in Cup 3 replicas with ET52 offset - I had to run 20mm spacers (on the CB dropped spindles and discs) to get the inner edge of the rim away from the trailing arm....but then had to narrow the beam 80mm to avoid fouling the fender lips.

My friend ran the same style wheel on his 63 beetle with k&l pin front end - his wheels were ET23 so didn't have to run spacers, but still had to narrow his beam 2inches. He ran discs as well and dropped spindles.

I found it hard to find specific info to such questions as every set up is slightly different so you never really know until you get them on there! you can measure as closely as possible but it unfortunately won't give you a perfect insight into turning circle etc. Hope it all fits without problems!!
