Ragtop Clip Install
Does anyone out there have June 1998 issue of VW Trens which had the detailed instructions on installing an original ragtop roofclip???

From what I understand it is easiest to drill out the spot welds around the frame and seperate it from the original roof, then re-weld the frame onto the bottom of your og roof. The interesting part comes when you go to add the "lip" at the front. I guess you can open up the hole in your roof to make the lip flush with your og roof, but then you will still have some crevaces to fill. I haven't done it yet myself, but i have done a fair bit of investigating on the subject.

I followed the VW Trends article but can't find the issue unfortunately - here is a link though which details how I did the ragtop installation into my 63 beetle.

No probs dirie1.
Uber Affe - I used a golde clip cut from a donor beetle that was beyond repair. I'm sorry I have no experience with the webasto ragtops so can't comment on their quality. |
