Question VKG is all I think about...

Ok!
I've searched high and low for a German Look cub on the west coast and couldn't find one.... So I checked your club out and REALLLLLLLY liked the standards the club sets forth....

I filled out an app. a couple days ago and keep anticipating an e-mail telling me something, wether it be good or bad! Nothing has come my way yet and I'm holding steady... is it because I live in Nevada, which is a ways away from the East, I know my car is in the beginning stages of restoration, doese that have something to do with it? Do I need to send you money to get in, or to get any word back?

I really really want to join the club! I get discouraged really easy and begin to give up with most any thing, but I WANT in the club so bad it's all I can think about.... I'd even move East to do it!

VKG has the absolute best guidline for integrity than any other club I've ran across, bar-non! Your cars are very tastefuly put together with quality and style and I want to belong to a group like that, VKG is a group I want to belong to...

WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO?
TELL ME AND I'LL DO IT!!!!

I tell you now that all my life I've wanted to be accepted in a group of people who share the same interests as I do, who have the same passions as I do, and I haven't found one till now. DO NOT have sympathy for me, if you let me join, let me join because you want me in, not because you feel sorry for me, because you have the same passion as I have for the German Look!

Cordially,
John

john,

thanks for your interest in joining the VKG. my apologies for the wait. i am the one who handles all of this for the club and have been AWOL. i have been moving over a long weekend and still do not have internet access at my home, only at work for now (and luckily they have not caught on to this site...yet).

i will look over your email and get back with you ASAP. no worries. you read the rules. if you and your car are in agreement with them, then you are in. this is NOT an invite only club.

John

if you filled out the app a couple of days ago & havent heard anything back, its because all VKG apps get emailed to Zen first & currently Zen is in the process of moving to a new house. So he wont be around as much as he normally is. When Zen gets some free time Im sure he will email me your App & then we will discuss it as we always do. You should hear something from us very soon.

Its nice to see someone who is so passionate about VW's & the German Look especially.

Also, I would like to thank you for your kind words about our club.
When we started VKG last year we set out to set a standard for GL cars & hope that we are achieving our goals as a group.

regards
Joe (vujade)

Ya gotta admire John's passion.
I personally know all to well what its like to enjoy a certain style and have no one around you that understands. It is always great to find like minded individuals to share thoughts and ideas. Re-assures you that if you're crazy, at least there are a few more crazies you can point at.

Glad to see that you are interested John. Poor Zen has been a busy boy the past couple months, building his car, selling his house, Bug Jam, buying a house, moving, working, oh yea, lets not forget the family thing. I'm sure he will get back to you as soon as he can take a breath.
Hey Zen, while you are looking thru all those boxes, get all the Christmas stuff out too. LOL.:silly:

I for one would love to see John in the VKG club. He's so energetic in his ideas he's got me going crazy with new ways to modify my VW. John will definatley be a positive influance on the group, in my own opinion.... Remember we are only crazy if we are the minority, the more of us that there are the saner we will become. Right? It makes sense, right???:silly:

Anytime John. Thats what we are here for. Yes that is my car and yes that is my real name. And yes I had all my "Trailer Queen buddies" in tow, well at least for 1/2 the trip. It was raining(like a cow pissing on a flat rock) and the clip came off my wiper motor and I had to drive to Darlington with no wipers(just some car wax on the windsheild) so I backed off for a while. There were cars off the road from hydroplaning.:silly:

Well glad to see that you made to your destination safely...

I, too, know what it's like to drive in the rain (and snow, for that matter) with out wipers, IT SUCKS! but congrats again, I know it's not the cover but it would make me feel good knowing that hundreds of people will see my car in the magazine and may just be curious enough to check out what the German Look is all about!

I fixed them at the show and bought some rain-X at the Wal-Mart behind the hotel(never leave home without it again). They have been fine ever since.

I use Suzuki motorcycle spray wash, it's like engine degreaser but it won't harm paint or aluminum. does a heck of a job on white walls.

Prep-Solv and a cotton cloth. If it is realy bad stuff(my wife's Jetta had some wax like stuff on it when we bought it) Bon-Ami(not Ajax or Comet) and "0000" steel-wool, cleans glass real good and will not scratch. Tooth paste and "0000" will polish glass too.
