Bonnet Catch
has anyone seen anyone do a modification to the front bonnet catch.
i am looking to remove the bonnet pull cable and replace with just a lockable button, the same as the rear deck lid. reason being that i have just had to cut the original bonnet catch in three places, to get it open after being unable to release the bonnet etc... cheers

I drill a small 1mm hole from the fender into the hood area. A bicycle shift cable run through the latch and out-the hole is a perfect backup. I'll have photos in my thread when I get to that part. Give it about 10 days.

Hi
I did the same thing as Dave with a bit of tie wire and key ring on the outside area and then I hid a key in the trunk area, bullet proof. Steve

The sleeving on my cable wasn't good enough to release the mechanism so I decided to get rid of the whole set up and went with some leather hood straps I made out of two old belts. Works great and gets a lot of compliments (it's like an old Ferrari, Porsche, etc. people say ). Excuse the rusty hood, don't have the budget or time or patience to repaint the whole car.
