Porsche BBS (Sport Classic) rims for GL?

Has any-one ever seen a GL bug with one of these?
I only know of the turbo wasserboxer bug of Marco Mancini (GB) that has the II's.
If I understood correctly, they came in two flavours: Sport Classic I and II's. The I's are one-piece 17" and the II's are 2-piece design and 18" (7,5J and 10J).
They really are BBS rims, manufatured for Porsche. I got a set of I's .

Pictures of a mock-up on my 03 will follow in about 2 weeks or so.
In the meantime, let me know what you think of them...

Greetings,
Walter

I saw a black 1303 with the same wheels if not just close in appearance to them a while ago in VWTrends. They looked good on that car and they should look good on your car also.

Thanks guys, here is a pic of the II's:
They are even more wicked, but I hate to ask what a set of tires would cost besides, I know that 10Jx18 in the rear under even my 2 1/2" widened fenders won't fit

Walter

Nice rims ... they would show off the rotor/caliper nicely. Why won't the 18x10 fit under your 2.5" fenders ? My 18x10 et47 fit under my 2" wide fenders nicely.

You're right Sandeep, I looked again closely and since the 10" have more off-set, there is probably enough room towards my spring-plates, but not towards the fender lip. I have the wider (+74mm per side) alu arms as well.
I still think that 18" will look out of proportion on my car, but 5 years ago, I thought that of 17" as apposed to 16" so who knows
Thefact that the 18" were also almost double the price of the 17" doesn't help either...

Greetings,
Walter

I am looking at turbo twist 10x18 et65 rear with early alu arms with 60mm widened fenders, I'm not sure whether it will fit. If not will go for 9'

My 18" X 10" et 65's with late aluminum arms will require a rear fender greater than 3" wider.

That was the general idea I had when I chose my current wheels(see avatar). Been keeping an eye out for the real thing.
